Before kick-off, theRangers supporters had travelled to the east end of Glasgow believing their team still had an outside chance of staying in contention for the title.
The visitors’ official X account marked the occasion by posting an aerial photograph of Celtic Park with the caption: “Away Days,” alongside a love heart emoji.
However, Celtic quickly responded online after the final whistle, reposting the image with the message: “#ParadiseOnYourMind” accompanied by a love heart emoji.
The exchange rapidly gained traction on social media, attracting thousands of interactions within the first hour as Celtic fans celebrated both the derby victory and the online jab at their city rivals.
Unfortunately, the Ibrox club – who fawned over Celtic Park all day on social media – deleted their original tweet with a few angry Bears not happy with it.
In other news, Martin O’Neill insists Celtic’s six game winning run will give the team confidence and momentum heading into two monumental games this week.
The Celtic boss said: “We’ve been fighting a long way. We know what’s ahead of us now at this minute. Wednesday will be really tough. I think that was shown from last night.”
“I think the run that we’re on gives us confidence to go and compete. And also the fact that we’ve come from behind today as well. I know we’re at home.”
“The crowd were brilliant for us. But to come from behind against Rangers and play in the manner in which we did, particularly in the second half, that should give us a boost.”
