McGrath abuse is nothing more than sectarianism

It’s widely believed that the cancer widely known as sectarianism has somewhat disappeared, or been toned down a little in Scottish culture, as well as Scottish Football, but sadly nothing can be further from the truth…

No one likes to broach the topic in the SMSM, but it’s still rearing its ugly head, with some recent incidents a perfect example.

    Ibrox vile songbook

Leaving aside the usual vile songbook regularly belted out by the supporters of the blue half of Glasgow, it’s more to do with the recent personal attacks on players who aren’t even wearing a Celtic shirt, or simply having the wrong surname, or having had a previous connection with the club has seen them viciously abused on social media.

It’s the same when it comes to the match officials, with the likes of Kevin Clancy, who is dubbed ‘father’ by the Rangers supporters, and linesman Frank Connor, both of whom are regularly bombarded with abuse, due to their ‘Catholic’ sounding surnames, with head of the refereeing department Willie Collum also subjected to the same treatment due to his much publicised Catholic beliefs.

    Hibs midfielder Jamie McGrath

The latest victim of this abhorrent behaviour is Hibs midfielder Jamie McGrath, who was correctly red carded at Easter Road on Sunday afternoon after a nasty late lunge on Alistair Johnston.

An incident that has led to him being accused of cheating, and only doing so to favour Celtic, the team his accusers claim he loves.

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Shorts colleagues.

Not to much will ever get done, regarding your thick as shit dopey Hun eejits.
That tackle on AJ could very easily have put him out of the world cup, with it being so reckless?

Wouldn’t have been to many complaints about a goal scored against ourselves, that would have only been allowed in a GAA football match?

Yet the most ridiculous claims, still remains upon how we are meant to benefit from the cheating officials?
      Says it all imo?
