Junior Adamu made a quick getaway to Istanbul this week as the Celtic striker showed his support for parent side Freiburg ahead of the Hoops’ Scottish Cup Final clash at Hampden.
The Austria international signed for Celtic on a loan deal from SC Freiburg on deadline day and is due to remain in Glasgow until the end of the campaign.
Adamu has found opportunities limited in recent weeks. The 24-year-old’s most recent start came in Celtic’s 2-2 encounter with theRangers at Ibrox back in March before he was brought off at the break.
Since that afternoon, the forward has managed only a brief appearance in the 2-0 defeat against Dundee United at Tannadice.
He also missed out on Celtic’s matchday squads during the run of seven straight league victories that secured another Premiership title.
With Martin O’Neill’s side preparing for their Hampden showdown with Dunfermline at the weekend, Adamu headed to Turkey to watch Freiburg’s Europa League Final meeting with Aston Villa.
Discussing the trip, Adamu said via The Herald: “I was invited and I was really happy about it. Ihad a day off so I took the opportunity to go to Istanbul. Of course I wanted to be there to support the guys!”
Adamu scored for Freiburg earlier in their Europa League campaign this season against Bologna. His parent club were beaten 3-0 by Aston Villa last night in the final.

His only goal for the Hoops arrived in dramatic fashion against Dundee in the Scottish Cup, with a late backheel equaliser sending the tie into extra time before Celtic sealed a 2-1 win and now head to the final on Saturday.
