All eyes were on Paradise last Saturday as almost 1.4m tuned into the the live coverage on Sky Sports as Celtic emerged as 3-1 win over a broken Hearts who have yet to congratulate the Hoops on their title win…
Add to that the supporters watching in pubs and also those viewing via Celtic TV around the world ad it adds up to one of the biggest audiences ever for a Scottish Premiership fixture.
Table doesn’t lie, Celtic are worthy Champions
The table doesn’t lie, Celtic ended the campaign two points ahead of the ungracious runners-up. Rather than come to Celtic Park with a positive approach they instead indulged in the dark-arts with fake injuries and taking an entirety to take a throw in or goal kick.
Contrasting behaviour in two instances
The difference between the to team can be illustrated by contrasting the contrasting behaviour in two instances during the game.
The first when it took four Celtic players to guard the penalty spot from determined Hearts players intend on causing damage ahead of Arne Engels scoring.

What is an absolute certainly is that they needed TWO goals in a few seconds and that was never going to happen. The Tynecastle club’s ongoing protest reeks of bad sportsmanship and hypocrisy.

Had Motherwell held onto their 1-0 lead against Celtic last midweek, Hearts would have been champions and while we’ll never know the likelihood is that their supporters would have entered the field of play to celebrate an historic title victory. And do you know what? No-one including Celtic supporters would have batted an eyelid.

Saturday was a massive game for Hearts but it was just the same for Celtic in what has been a turbulent season for the club from start to finish. The majority of the Celtic fans booed the pitch invaders. Despite all our success on the past few decades only in 1998 was there a large scale pitch invasion and nothing was said about that at the time.
The Hearts allegations in their first statement were outrageous and unfounded. Perhaps they should prove us wrong by releasing any evidence of any violence being shown towards the Hearts players or officials. From what we hear any violent acts came from a little closer to home for the title runners -up.
New low as Hearts have a sly dig at Martin O’Neill
The Edinburgh club latest statement, having a dig at Martin O’Neill, is pathetic despite the hacks jumping on board to find a way to kick the Celtic manager who has simply reacted to the huge overreaction to the pitch invasion which came with false allegations delivered with malicious intent.
Here’s the latest Hearts statement in full…
“Heart of Midlothian Football Club would once again like to thank our incredible supporters for their magnificent backing throughout this season, and to provide an update in relation to the events which unfolded at Celtic Park on Saturday.
“As previously noted, the club is investigating events before, during and after the match, and will offer Police Scotland our full support as they continue with their enquiries.
“We have also written to the SFA and SPFL setting out our observations and questions regarding the circumstances surrounding the premature ending of the match, and expressing our concern that a troubling precedent has been set whereby a pitch invasion can effectively determine the duration of a football match, rather than the match officials.
“We have asked them for a prompt response to the points we have raised.
“The incursion of spectators onto the field of play must never be condoned under any circumstances, and the seriousness of the potential consequences must be fully understood by supporters and clubs alike.
“We are aware of highly irresponsible comments made publicly this week, which appear to seek to defend those who entered the pitch on Saturday and undermine the gravity of the situation.
“Those remarks carry dangerous implications, and we call upon the football authorities to ensure that this matter is addressed with the seriousness it demands, and with the full cooperation of all involved.
“This has been an excellent season for Heart of Midlothian. However, it represents only the very beginning of our plans for long-term sustained success.
“We look ahead to next season with confidence, supported as ever by the exceptional backing of our fans, sponsors and partners.”
If it has been an excellent one for Hearts then it ended up that way for Celtic too in a season that lasts 38 games. Celtic got more points than Hearts, End of story.

Can’t believe the noise coming out of Hearts regarding the game on Saturday at no time was the hearts players under any threat or intimadation from Celtic or supporters considering the hearts players spent the whole game taking it in turns to go down injured to waste time and run down the clock as for there supporters the end they were in was nearly empty before the third goal was scored
Hearts say irresponsible comments were made…there manager mckinnes made a vile comment a out John Beaton..and it went unpunished it was disgusting and helped lead to Beaton having police at his house
Hearts set the tone from kick off last weekend with several dives and a penalty claim from their strikers, followed by a litany of attempts to break up the game.
Apart from harping on in their fake outrage, the biggest mistake they’ll make this summer is retaining their manager. He got very lucky as their rivals struggled with bad appointments and poor signings, something that Celtic surely will not repeat.
Hell mend Hearts as we bathe in their tears.
Let’s be honest, Hearts, Rangers fans and certain media outlets were dying for a fans invasion so they can put Celtic in a bad light and anything detrimental to Celtic to take away the winning of the title.

I remember referees in the 70s, messrs Davidson and Webster hated Celtic and thg he hatred will exist as long as the Scottish and British governments do something about it.

Wonder what would have happened if match was played at Tynecastle and Hearts won league , their supporters invaded the park abusef and goaded the Celtic players. . Parkhead and ONeill would be furious and doing same as Hearts . And why do some of Celtic fans have to wear masks when they invaded pitch . Heats fans were abused by Celtic fans the minute they stepped off supporters buses . I asked a Celtic fan what he would do if penalty Celtic received at Motherwell had happened in Celtic box . He said he would be furious and claim a conspiracy against Celtic enough said .. In my eyes we won the league . Steven McLean denied us a penalty against Motherwell which would have given us 3 points instead of one . SFA have since apologised for the mistake
Ken dry your eyes!! Your team weren’t good enough!! You be looked after all season by the officials!! Our stonewall penalty was first against your team and you had dodgy goals given all season! But truth is when you couldn’t shake off the champions on what was one of our worst seasons points wise and you bottled it!! As Celtic are winners they know how to win hence we are serial winners!! Also where did the term pitch invasion come from it wasn’t as if we were going to war. It was actually spilling onto the field of play due to the euphoria and relief at clinching the title. Something that has happened for 200 years when major titles or cups have been won.
Just because Celtic spoiled the Hearts party and spoiled the intended narrative of the media they come up with trumped up charges of player assaults. A total lie by the way. No Hearts player was injured in any way by fans.
Shame on Hearts for perpetuating the myth.
