Chris Sutton and Kris Boyd have at last agreed on something and that is that Daizen Maeda is simply irreplaceable for Celtic as the Japanese talisman eyes a summer move the the English Premier League…

‘Celtic’s Maradona’
Speaking alongside former Hearts manager Steven Naismith on The Warm Up podcast recorded on Sunday, the trio looked back on Celtic’s title winning showing against Hearts at Celtic Park.  Sutton’s assessment included praise for Callum Osmand, Marcelo Saracchi and Kelechi Iheanacho but the main praise was of course for ‘Celtic’s Maradona’ Daizen Maeda.
And they agree that if Daizen gets his dream move in the summer then he will be simply irreplaceable.
“I think it’s an interesting one,” Sutton said. “Could he play in the Premier League? Absolutely. Look, everybody knows what he is and what his characteristics are. So in terms of out of possession, there’s nobody better than him.

Maeda is pretty much irreplaceable
“But his undoubted finishing ability at the end of the season has been the key for Celtic. He is pretty much irreplaceable, what he does, it’s incredible.
“You’ve seen some greats that have left the football club, maybe not at their level, but for example, if a goalscorer leaves, you can bring in a goalscorer, but you’re not bringing somebody in that does what Daizen Maeda can do.”
Sutton reckons that Daizen has been doing shooting practice in the last month, calling him sensational for the way he has finished the season. Boyd admits that Daizen is incredible, a player he has never seen the like of previously.

Naismith reckons that Daizen will go to the Bundesliga or another European country but doesn’t believe he will get his move to the Premier League. Sutton though reckons Maeda has what but takes to make it in England.

Personally believe that Maeda was been given assurances that he can leave ourselves during the summer? Hence why he wanted to actually leave ourselves on such a high imo?
Think that outpour of his emotions with his goal, and such crucial 2nd goal on Saturday, all but confirmed that imo?
Would agree that Maeda is going to be irreplaceable within our team, especially as possibly one of the best attacking players, i have ever seen without the football imo? Defending starts from the front these days now, and Maeda can lead a team like no other in that regards?
Of course he can be erratic at times upon the football, and his finishing is of a higher quality when instinctive, moreso than with time available, only adds to his unique as a footballer also imo?
As for actual signings for ourselves, think we are talking about maybe 2nd to the king of kings, in value for money in terms of money spent, upon what they provided to ourselves upon the pitch imo?
Not bad company for Maeda to find himself within our club, and will always be regarded as a hero for ourselves in my eyes anyway, no matter what his future might bring now imo?
