Reported Celtic target Jari De Busser has confirmed his exit plans this summer…

The highly rated keeper revealed that he has informed Go Ahead Eagles of this and will liaise with them for an appropriate departure, when the right club approaches the Dutch side.
The player is heading into the final year of his contract and the club would be looking at bringing in a decent amount of cash all things considered, as opposed to losing him for nothing this time next year.
Jari De Busser is currently valued at £1.25 million
According to sources, he is currently valued at £1.25 million – a sum of money that Celtic can well afford to put up for another goalkeeper – with Kasper Schmeichel set to retire from football, after a terrible shoulder injury plagued the 39-year-old this campaign.
Kasper’s departure frees up a significant sum from the wage-bill and it’s clear that the goalkeeping position is one that Celtic needs to strengthen in the summer window.

Schmeichel’s exit has left a considerable void in the goalkeeping department at Celtic Park, with only Viljami Sinisalo and the rarely seen Ross Doohan holding the fort at the minute.

If the Hoops are serious about this rebuild then they will need to strengthen key areas of the team, to provide competition for places so that everyone is on their toes at all times throughout the season.
An astute piece of business for Celtic
Adding De Busser could be an astute piece of business in the long-run too, with the 26-year-old still in his early years as a goalkeeper in the grand scheme of things.

Go Ahead Eagles have already acquired his replacement this close season from Toulouse too, in the form of Kjetil Haug, meaning it is a question of when, not if, De Busser will fly the nest.
‘The plan is for me to take the next step’
Speaking about his future recently to VI, he said: “The plan is for me to take the next step. I have said it before, and it is also being done in consultation with the club. They are aware of the situation, and we discussed it before this season. But well, a club has to come forward first.”
Like all other rumours and reports, this will have to be dealt with after Celtic deal with other pressing issues at the football club.
The football operations have left a mountain of work to do this summer transfer window, with glaring holes all over the squad. Goalkeeper is just one of a number of key areas that needs rebuild and designed heading into the new footballing calendar.
Firstly though, a top manager and first class operation behind him would be nice.
Just a thought…
