Kasper Hogh, the stand-out goalscorer at Bodø/Glimt, has been linked with a move to the Scottish Premiership this summer with both Celtic and Hearts chasing the Danish striker…
Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking to Danish outlet SpilXperten, reports that it’s CELTIC who are leading the race to sign the striker who bagged 17 goals in the Norwegian League and an impressive six in the Champions League plus a goal in his international debut for Denmark.
Kasper Hogh topping Celtic summer list of targets…
“It is true that both Celtic and Hearts want Kasper Høgh,” Gianluca Di Marzio said. “Celtic is leading the race for him, but Hearts really want him as well.”
“At this moment, Celtic are leading the race to get him, so it is very likely that he can join Celtic.
“But Hearts are still insisting on getting him, so they will try to convince him until the very end and then the decision is up to Kasper Høgh.”

Norwich City interested but Celtic lead the race
Norwich City have also shown interest in signing Kasper Hogh, but it’s the two Scottish Premiership sides, who are currently battling for the title, who are the front-runners with Celtic leading the race for the Danish striker.
The Tony Bloom factor at Hearts
We received this news of Celtic’s interest in Kasper Hogh earlier today. The fact that Hearts are also pursuing the Danish international striker also tells its own story. That Tony Bloom is serious about fighting for the title not just this season but beyond that too.
It’s no coincidence that this news comes at a time when Hearts have along with Celtic secured places in the Champions League qualifiers. The destination of the title will determine which side has the easier path and could end up having a bearing on Hogh’s decision.

Celtic’s record of success surely makes us more attractive than Hearts
However with Celtic’s success ratio over the past twenty years, absolutely dominating the game in Scotland, it’s hard to see a strong argument from Hearts – other than financial and perhaps Bloom’s involvement with his policy of flipping players. That could be the sales pitch for a player who surprising isn’t yet linked with a Premier League move.
If Celtic can move quickly (no laughing at the back) and get the deal done we could at long last have our replacement for Kyogo and a centre-forward worthy of the Celtic No9 jersey.
The roles are thus reversed in the race for the Dane versus the current championship race, but Di Marzio states that Hearts will try to get their hands on the Dane until the very end.
“Hearts will continue to insist that they are the right club for him, so they will of course try to persuade both him and the agent right up until the end, and then the decision is up to Kasper Høgh.”
Michael Nicholson should get this deal done asap.
