We missed a golden opportunity to narrow the goal difference, but we did what we set out to do, and that was to make yesterday another Beautiful Sunday…

We secured a valuable three points in the chase for the title, by overcoming ten man Hibs at Easter Road thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda, and Kelechi Iheanacho.

In the end it was a slog, but I felt we more than done enough to win, which is evident in the match stats, but we missed a golden opportunity to narrow the goal differential between us and our two title rivals.

Even before Hibs were reduced to ten men, we were fully in control of proceedings, and if anything the extra man advantage was a hindrance to us as the home side reverted to the backs to the wall tactics, just as they did against Hearts last week.

Hibs amazingly levelled just before the break, and even though it shouldn’t have stood, it did and we were all square once again. How the officials can look at that and say it’s ‘inconclusive’ is anyone’s guess, it was a blatant handball, even Kris Boyd on SKY admitted so!!

The second half was predictably all Celtic, and as many time the we’ve seen this movie, I still had full belief we would score, and we did thanks to substitute Kelechi Iheanacho who showed great calmness and composed to bring the ball down and finish from close range following a Kieran Tierney corner kick.

As with all one goal leads, you are wary going into the final stages, but Hibs offered no threat at all, and it was disappointing not increase our lead due to our overall possession and man advantage.

None of us can really complain, as we did after all do what we set out to do, and that was to win and go level on points with Hearts, and heap all the pressure on to the Jambos and The Rangers who face off at Tynecastle tomorrow evening.

It certainly was another Beautiful Sunday.

Your quite correct to highlight that gaining the 3 points was the most important thing yesterday, so mission achieved.
Yet the manner in how we want about completing the achievement, was so underwhelming, that I found myself questioning as to do we really want to win this title?

The performance of the cheating officials, increased the anger levels yesterday, but to many of our individual performances weren’t much better either imo?
We can moan all we like about the equaliser yesterday, but continue to ignore the involvement of scales, nygren and sinisalo beforehand, which was at pathetic levels from so called international players?
Football is a game defined by moments within it, that usually determines the outcomes of a match. Hence stats are nothing more than a whitewash, within the story of a game imo?
And yet again, we find ourselves questioning what is our team all about?

We have become a team depending upon limited moments of goalscoring opportunities, and remain capable of handing up opportunities to opposition teams, even gift wrapped to themselves?
Not a combination that our team should be associated with, but here we are as a team?

Such performances, are so short of winning the 3 matches required for another title, but might be enough to gain a Scottish cup victory imo?
Personally believe that only a handful of our players could walk off the park yesterday, with there heads held high, for there individual contribution imo?
Nowhere near the standards, we expect from themselves, and thankfully the cheating officials have bailed them out in that regards imo?

Massive week ahead, with hopefully massive improvement required from ourselves, as it will be needed imo?
The warning signs are still very evident within our own play, especially as we haven’t got that ruthless streak within ourselves as a team, when the opportunities present itself like yesterday.
We know that we will have to play the cheating officials also, which adds another hurdle to overcome?
But we aren’t strong enough as a team, to keep aiding teams with our own approach either during matches imo?

Happy enough to have earned the 3 points yesterday. How it was eventually achieved still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, all the same, and even harder to take, with ourselves contributing to the likes imo?
