George Foulkes aka Baron Foulkes of Cumnock, Member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom and Labour peer who has more titles than the football club he supports, has been making the headlines of late, due to his inane behaviour on several social media platforms.

To be fair to Foulkes, who once held the chairman’s office at Tynecastle, it could be due to his advancing years, or perhaps due to a fondness for a tipple or two, that’s making him look like the mouthpiece for all the conspiracy cranks that plague the online world of Scottish football.
George’s latest rant however has outdone even the biggest of the online lunatics in the football world, as he is still obviously hurting from seeing his side blow the chance of a first league title since George was a teenager. The former Labour Minister has made himself a laughing stock and not for the first time.
Foulkes reckons that if Celtic had any credibility, then they would simply hand over the league title to Hearts, who he reckons are more worthy of the accolade of League Champions than the team that finished with two points more after all 38 games were played.

I reckon we were hard done by in the 2003 UEFA Cup final due to the antics of the Porto players, but we weren’t good enough on the night due to individual errors, and we can only blame ourselves. In no way were we worthy of winning the trophy retrospectively.
Even more bizarrely, the Scottish mainstream media, are encouraging him by giving him a platform to spout his inane drivel and anti-Celtic conspiracy theories, which seem to suggest that Rangers supporting match officials conspired to cheat Hearts out of the title and instead have the trophy remain inside Paradise for yet another year.
Beaton, McLean and Dallas cheating to help Celtic is a ridiculous suggestion
No-one has explained why the likes of John Beaton, Steven McLean and Andrew Dallas would have any motivation whatsoever to conspire in such a way.
I’m sorry, not that it needs to be explained, but a side that finished second due to dropping a massive amount of points in the run in, and folded under the pressure on the final few matches don’t deserve to be champions. The table doesn’t lie and Celtic – simply because we had two more points that Hearts were the Champions.

Foulkes should perhaps ask why Derek McInnes didn’t show more ambition on the final day showdown at Paradise to actually put in a title-winning performance and try to beat Celtic on their own patch. Had they done that they’d have been worthy Champions.
On the final day McInnes parked the bus, engaged in time wasting, player after player needing extensive treatment and even had a lineman raise a flag to try to rule out the Daizen Maeda goal that put Celtic ahead of his side. Thank heavens for VAR on that occasion.
When did we start awarding failure in this country?
Celtic won the Scottish Premiership fair and square, and if simply handed over the league it would make a mockery of not only Scottish football, but football in general.
Meanwhile we still wait for Hearts congratulating Celtic on their title triumph. That’s what good sportsmanship looks like as opposed to the bad losers from Tynecastle for who Auld George is the standard bearer.
Had Celtic not scored a last min goal v Motherwell we lost the league on goal difference by two goals
10 days prior Celtic were not given a stonewall pen v hibs and they had a goal allowed to stand when he handballed it.
