Auston Trusty has revealed more about Martin O’Neill’s mentality inside the Celtic dressing room following the Hoops’ 3-1 derby victory over the Ibrox club at Celtic Park.

The American international played an influential role in the 3-1 win as Celtic produced one of their most complete displays of the season to edge closer to retaining the Premiership title.
With only two matches remaining, the Hoops now know wins against Motherwell and Hearts would secure a fifth consecutive league title, and confidence has surged after their dominant performance against Danny Rohl’s side.

‘He really wants to hound his message’
Post-match, Trusty gave an insight into how Martin O’Neill prepared his players inside the dressing room for such a big occasion, helping calm the nerves.
Speaking via Celtic’s official YouTube channel, Trusty said: “He’s calm but also a little bit aggressive. He really wants to hound his message.
“But he has a lot of experience and knows exactly what to say. And we reacted well to it.
“He’s the same every game. Every game is a Champions League game to him. He’s about being in the present, the past is in the past, and you can’t think about the future. You have to be in the present.
“He just tells us what we need to do to win the game and we get ourselves ready to go.”
