In the last week or so, Celtic FC has been bombarded with severe and unjust criticism, not just from the usual sources on the Scottish mainstream media, but numerous well known faces down south who have been sticking their two bobs worth in as well…
Rangers Supporting Referees in Conspiracy to Assist Celtic
I’m not sure if it’s being done merely for clicks or the overall exposure, but one things for sure, they have shown that they know absolutely nothing about Scottish football. If they did, then they wouldn’t suggest or as some have claimed, that there is a conspiracy engulfing our game, and it’s all in the aid of helping Celtic!
Well my message to them is simple, do a little research before you start making wild, dumbfounded and completely inaccurate claims. The truth could not be further from the claims you are embarrassing yourselves making.

I could start by explaining how for many years, Scottish refereeing officials who had well known deep affection for the former club who played out of Ibrox. Something that was evident in the number of retired officials who follow the new club up and down the country, in their retirement, even attending Ibrox supporting bashes on a regular basis.
The Scottish FA has it’s own history when it comes to anti-Celtic bias
Or the fact that the SFA were once found guilty in a court of law of deliberately withholding the registration of a key Celtic signing? Or the time match officials were complicit in lying against the club?

Hearts got decisions going their way were shown to be wrong in VAR Review
The two referees at the centre of the so-called conspiracy because of two incidents that happened at Fir Park, Motherwell when Hearts were denied a penalty after a VAR check then a few days later Celtic were given a penalty again after a VAR check have something in common. They are both well known Rangers supporters.
So while we would all hope that they’d put that to one side when they are refereeing a match, it’s hardly unlikely that they are both going to indulge in a conspiracy to deny Hearts the title but instead deliver it gift-wrapped to Celtic Park.
If you believe that then you’re just as deluded as the supporters of Hearts and indeed the Rangers who just can’t accept that Celtic won the league fair and square.

The club that cheated even death
Then I could explain in detail that it wasn’t Celtic who were allowed to run up a mountain of debt, and dodge paying tax by using illegal side payments, which ultimately led to the death of their former football club.
Furthermore, it wasn’t Celtic who were allowed to form as a newco and then be allowed to guise as the club who folded with a mass of debt thus avoiding paying their debts, and amazingly be parachuted back into the Scottish footballing pyramid.
It wasn’t Celtic who spent nigh on £100 million to reach the top flight, resulting in a massive loss year in year out. The same way in that it wasn’t Celtic who recorded a record run of games without conceding a penalty, even with the introduction of VAR!
I could also point out the number of times they have verbally or physically assaulted our staff at their ground, all without being hit with any form of punishment.
Celtic’s stonewall penalty was first awarded against Hearts all season
I could point out that the stonewall penalty Hearts conceded at Celtic Park on Saturday was the first one given against them all season.
I get that big names in the punditry world such as the far from impartial figures such as Ally McCoist, Jim White, and Andy Gray to name a few are twisting the narrative, but it needs to be pointed out that there is far from a pro-Celtic bias in the world of Scottish football.
Hearts were a few minutes away from winning the title but ultimately lost out. Had there been no VAR the decisive second Celtic goal would not have stood as the lineman – another Rangers supporters apparently – raised his flag despite Callum Osmand being at least two yards onside.
Away form in 2026 cost Hearts the title
Hearts lost the league because since the turn of the year their away form has been substandard and they allowed both Celtic and the Rangers to get within touching distance going into the final five post split fixtures.
At that stage the bookies had already decided that Hearts were no longer favourites, with the latest Ibrox club replacing them as market leaders. All three sides knew that they probably would need to win all five remaining games, particularly Celtic who were in third place.
Danny Rohl’s lost 12 points in five matches, Wilfred Nancy dropped 12 points in six matches and was then sacked
What happened is that the Rangers lost their first four and only picked up three points away to Falkirk on the last day when it didn’t matter. Losing four games in five matches and therefore dropping 12 points was for Danny Rohl and even worse record that Wilfried Nancy in midwinter at Celtic when he lost 12 points in six games, winning the other two.

All Hearts needed was a goal
For Hearts the title was in their own hands until the last minute of the season – all they needed was a goal deep into stoppage time at Celtic Park on Saturday and they would have been Champions.
Celtic had won all four games including an impressive 3-1 win over the Rangers, and Martin O’Neill knew that his side had to beat Hearts to win the league. That Daizen Maeda goal, appropriately enough in the 86th minute, got Celtic’s noses in front in the league table for the first time since September.
It also changed the Hearts mindset as they now needed a goal. Celtic defender their last throw of the dice free-kick well, broke away with three players advancing on an empty goal to wrap up a well deserved title.

Two referees called it as they saw fit
But at those penalty incidents at Fir Park the two referees called it as they saw fit. The first had zero to do with Celtic, the second was handball and the only reason its controversial relates to the stage of the season and Celtic closing in on a Hearts side that had gone off the boil.
It’s all hot air anyway. The table doesn’t lie, once again Celtic are worthy Champions and go to Hampden on Saturday looking to make it a double.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
