Martin O’Neill is expected to meet with Celtic principal shareholder Dermot Desmond in the coming days following the Hoops’ double-winning finish to the season.

The 74 year-old guided Celtic to both the Premiership title and the Scottish Cup after overseeing a remarkable turnaround during his short-term spell in charge.
A week on from sealing the league title in dramatic fashion, O’Neill’s side comfortably defeated Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup final to complete the domestic Double.
Although O’Neill had initially returned on an interim basis, recent success has fuelled debate over whether he could remain in the dugout beyond the summer.

Speaking after Saturday’s victory, O’Neill insisted no formal discussions had yet taken place regarding a longer stay at the Scottish champions.
“There were no discussions about that at all,” he said via BBC Sport Scotland.
“Next week I might get to speak to the owner. If you’re asking me if I could step in after a three-day holiday, I wouldn’t have that about me.
“Dermot Desmond brought me back in the first place, I owe him a great deal otherwise I wouldn’t be here.”
O’Neill’s comments are likely to further intensify speculation surrounding the managerial situation as Celtic prepare for another crucial summer both domestically and in Europe.

Hope MoN remains the winner as he is, by leaving the managerial role for someone else to take on imo?
Still want MoN to remain involved within our club, especially as he still has a crucial role to play within it imo?
We are looking at potentially a high number of incoming players, with potentially 5 years contracts to be offered.
Not realistic in trying to get improved stability within our playing squad, especially as it’s a requirement for ourselves, if improved ambition is going to ever be achieved within European competition?
The core group that Ange formed is nearly depleted now, so a new strong core group will have to be formed for ourselves. That is looking beyond just 1 or 2 seasons with the contracts we are prepared to offer also, but room for the improved contracts have to be available also?
Bit of a minefield in that regards, but wouldn’t be helped if MoN is not going to be on a long contract himself, within the managerial role imo?
Doesn’t mean every signing is going to be a success. But we need a bigger rate of success than what last season achieved all the same?
Don’t think it would be right upon MoN to take control and responsibility for such a huge turnaround in players over the summer?
But do believe he has a crucial role to play within the overall process that’s required?
And possibly already has had an imput already, regarding some of the improved contracts that have already been offered to a few of our players already?
As well as a good idea, upon a number of players who won’t be committing to our club for next season also imo?
