Former Lech Poznan striker Piotr Reiss has encouraged the club to make a permanent move for Celtic loanee Luis Palma following his standout displays this season…
The Honduran wide man has enjoyed a productive spell in Poland, contributing nine goals and nine assists while playing a key role in Lech’s campaign.
An option to buy is included in the loan agreement, allowing the Ekstraklasa side to secure the 26-year-old for around £4 million. Such a fee would represent a new club record, raising doubts over whether a deal is financially viable.
Luis Palma has not ruled out extending his stay, and Reiss – while acknowledging the Hoops loanee can be inconsistent at times – believes his quality justifies the investment.
Speaking to Football Lodge, he said: “I think so. He’s a bit frustrating sometimes, though, because he has extraordinary skills, he can play football, but sometimes he ignores certain situations.”
“He can’t get the ball in easy moments. It’s worth buying him, though, because if he shows up in European competition, he might sell for more than four million.”
“He’s a quality player. He makes a difference. As a defender, I’d be afraid to play against Palma. He plays a lot of one-on-one, he can do something. I’d buy him. The question is whether Lech’s management can afford such a transfer.”
Speaking recently about his future at Lech Poznan, Palma said: “I hope to stay at Lech for a long time. But it’s not just my decision. I’m doing my thing day by day and I’m very happy about it.”
“All I can do is keep doing that, but not everything depends on me. I have been a substitute in recent matches and that’s the decision of the manager.”
But I always have the team’s best interests at heart. I am working hard to get my place back in the team. That’s football for you.”

Personally don’t think Palma career is totally over, just yet with ourselves imo?
Don’t think he will be able to challenge Jota, Seb or forrest for the wide left position whatsoever next season.
But depending on how a new manager intends of setting up our squad, could another position within our squad, be potentially in the making for Palma?
For instance, if a new squad is going to be formed, with a 4231 in mind, could Palma become a player to compete with Nygren and McCowan within such a team set up.
With the added bonus of going wide left, if such circumstances should arise?
Possibly doubtful, but wouldn’t totally rule it out just yet, all the same
