Celtic look set to enter talks about a permanent deal to sign Marcelo Saracchi. The 28-year-old joined last summer in a loan deal from Boca Juniors but there was no option to buy included in the deal.
According to Argentine transfer journalist German Garcia Grova, Celtic and Boca will meet in Glasgow to discuss a permanent deal in two weeks. The former RB Leipzig defender has made 23 appearances for Celtic this season, scoring once and assisting twice.

Saracchi has deputised well to Tierney and there is an argument that in recent weeks he has been under utilised by MON and the management team as KT has flagged. It is essential that Tierney’s game time is managed to stave off burnout or any further risk of long term injuries and having top level player in the same position helps drive the standards.

Celtic have a lot of work to do this summer, including hiring a new manager and replacing much of the football operations apparatus, as well as a large amount of the playing squad. Celtic have gone quickly to sign up squad players such as Luke McCowan, James Forrest and even Liam Scales to new deals, a clear indication that they intend to get some business done early to avoid a repeat of Ange’s first summer, where he was forced to go into European qualifiers with a threadbare squad.

Personally believe that Saracchi is well worthy of being offered a contract by ourselves imo?
Problem potentially exists, where Saracchi is at an age, where he will be looking for his last big contract, before a price for him even enters the discussion.
So if we are going to enter talks with Boca, then hopefully personal terms for Saracchi, have already been sorted out?
What would be a realistic asking price now, is potentially a guessing game.
But this nonsense we seem to operate within, regarding asking prices, seems to be a massive area where Nicholson let’s himself badly down within. Hence the backlash towards the operation of the board.
Getting Saracchi signed up, might be the first indication that changes might be on the way, to how we operate within the transfer market?
But like any such big business deals, there are plenty of unknowns within such deals, but we can’t keep making the financial elements of such deals, as big of a problem as we can tend to do so also imo?
