Celtic have returned to action with two wins on the bounce, overcoming two potentially tricky opponents. At the end of last season, Aberdeen pipped Celtic to the Scottish Cup while St Mirren left Celtic Park with a point on the final day of the Premiership campaign.

When the fixtures were announced in late June, the two opening games represented two potentially difficult afternoons for Brendan Rodgers and his team. However, after two matches, Celtic have six points and are yet to concede.

St Mirren proved themselves to be difficult to break down with a Β late Luke McCowan winner earning the points on Flag Day at Paradise. While Aberdeen saw a comfortable display from the Scottish Champions with goals from Benji Nygren and Reo Hatate either side of half time settling the affair.
