Former Celtic Star Matt O’Riley is still a class act as Napoli €30m bid proves…

Matt O’Riley hasn’t had the best of luck since leaving Celtic for Brighton in a £25 million move last summer.
Suffering a nasty injury early on in his career at The Seagulls didn’t help and he’s struggled for a regular spot in the starting XI since, often played out of position when called upon.
Matt O’Riley is a target for Serie A champions Napoli
Now Matt is a target for Serie A champions Napoli and he could indeed join Scotland stars Scott McTominey and Billy Gilmour in the Gli Azzurri midfield next season alongside a certain starter in the headline Napoli signing, Belgian superstar Kevin De Bruyne who joins the Italian Champions from Manchester City on a free transfer.
Napoli have apparently offered Brighton and Hove Albion €30 million for the Danish international and he would be daft to knock back the move if the fee is indeed accepted by his current club. Both Roma and Atalanta are reportedly preparing to get involved in the bidding so Brighton might be preparing to wait and see how high the transfer fee can go.

Celtic due 10% of any profit Brighton make on the transfer
Celtic could be due a small percentage of any fee, which would be a very small amount due to the clause rendering profit made on his sale and not the full fee as per usual with transfer sell ons, but it would be a welcome bonus all the same.
The fact that a side like Napoli are in for Matt proves that he’s very much still a class act. He left Celtic for a smaller club in Brighton in a bigger league, but this time around with all due respect to the English side he will be joining a superior club, and that’s an arena a player of Matt’s talents should be operating at.

Matt’s game seems well suited to the Italian game so with three interested parties he should get a move that will be vital of he’s looking to be at the World Cup Finals with Denmark next summer.
