According to several Japanese sports outlets Celtic target Hayato Inamura will play his final game for present club Albirex Niigata today before travelling to Glasgow to complete a move to Celtic with an announcement due this coming week…

Inamura who is a centre back but can also operate at left back is something of an unknown quantity in these parts, but then again so were Kyogo, Reo Hatate, and Daizen Maeda.
Celtic need reinforcements for the defensive area
It’s clear Celtic need reinforcements for the defensive area of the team, but whether Inamura is seen as a centre back or left back in the eyes of Brendan Rodgers remains to be seen, if he does indeed put pen to paper.

With Greg Taylor leaving for PAOK, and young Matthew Anderson also moving to Belgium, Inamura will most likely be seen as cover for Kieran Tierney in what will be a long gruelling campaign ahead.
Perhaps Hayato Inamura will be our man?
Some might be underwhelmed by the imminent signing of an unknown asset in Inamura, but when and if he does indeed sign, we will support him in the same manner we do with all the players who put on that famous green and white shirt.
We have had top quality Japanese midfielders, wingers and centre-forwards but still await our first top class Japanese defender. Perhaps Hayato Inamura will be our man? Let’s hope so.

Carl Starfelt heading to Como?
Meanwhile former Celtic defender Carl Starfelt, according to The Celtic Star, is a target for ambitious Italian side Como and Celtic could be in for a windfall if his move from Spanish side Celta Vigo goes through. Carl Starfelt was always a much better defender than many Celtic supporters gave him credit for. Best of luck him and if that deal goes through the Celtic windfall will be greatly appreciated!

Greg Taylor off to Greece
And offer the next few days we’ll hear the formal announcement that Greg Taylor is to leave Celtic for Greek side PAOK after agreeing a three year contract. Taylor, like Starfelt was strangely under appreciated by some of the Celtic support. We’ll certainly wish him all the best as indeed with the vast majority of the Celtic support.
