Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano this morning revealed that Portuguese side SC Braga have placed a bid of €2 million (£1.7 million) for our out of favour centre back Gustaf Lagerbielke.

The Swedish international who signed two years ago along with Maik Nawrocki hasn’t impressed Brendan Rodgers, and was sent out on a season long loan to FC Twente last campaign.
Lagerbielke hasn’t been given a fair chance
Much like Nawrocki, Lagerbielke hasn’t been given a fair chance in my opinion, and in the few occasions he’s been selected he’s barely put a foot wrong. They are far from the worst choices we have in that area.

Brendan however knows what he wants from his centre-backs and believes Gustaf like Maik is not for him. The Irishman does after all see them train on a daily basis, and knows much more than you or I and ultimately it’s his call.
Getting players surplus to his requirements out the door can only be good news for the Celtic manager who wants Lennoxtown to be full of players he regards as crucial to his ongoing plans. Ultimately that’s what matters most.
Negotiations are currently going on with Braga
Negotiations are currently going on with Braga and if all is agreed then it’s safe to say that the deal will be completed with Gustaf himself keen on making the move to Portugal.

And of course Celtic will land ourselves a fee whilst getting another surplus to requirements player off the wage bill in the process.
Hopefully this deal can get done asap and the best of luck to Gustaf, as I said he’s a player who I feel was never really given a fair crack of the whip at Celtic.
