The irony of it all, it’s certainly been a bad week for the Rangers

Isn’t it ironic don’t you think?

Alanis Morrisette once wrote the hit song Isn’t it Ironic which was full of humorous innuendos concerning ironic moments and situations..

If the Canadian singer should ever do a reboot of her song she could easily add a new line in aimed at the supporters of our rivals (since 2012) theRangers and their chums in the Scottish mainstream media.

An easily confused bunch

As we all know the Bears are a deluded, easily confused bunch and they really have given us all a good old laugh this past week as their own irony went into overdrive.

After crashing to a defeat that ended their season in Bilbao at the hands of Athletic Club, the raging Bears have reverted to type and blamed others for their own obvious failures. The culprits being the match officials and UEFA who they reckon have combined to deny them the opportunity of lifting European silverware.

Athletic Club were easily the better team

As those of us with any knowledge of the game will know, it’s the very fact that they are a very poor footballing side that has denied them the chance of progressing in Europe’s secondary competition never mind being in contention of winning the entire tournament. They actually did very well to get as far as the quarter finals and over the two legs Athletic Club were easily the better team.

That hasn’t stopped theRangers support taking to social media and calling up phone ins crying about injustices all over the place, all encouraged and not contested by those in the SMSM.

Those sort of allegations from a supporter base who watched Rangers 1872 RIP cheat every single club in the country with the use of Illegal side payments in the form of EBT’s, and then watched on as their Phoenix club  that was formed in their place were parachuted into the Scottish football system seems kind of Ironic don’t you think?

Their wee cousins lost at Hampden

It certainly does to me.  Their week went from bad to worse when their wee cousins got kicked out of the Scottish Cup by Aberdeen and Celtic hammered St Johnstone to reach the final and set up yet another Treble chance.

Celtic can win the league this weekend

This weekend they’ve got Celtic maybe not winning the league to look forward to, although perhaps they’ll want that done and dusted as the pressure would then be on their team to win at St Mirren and reliable they are not.
