Andy Townsend has tipped a vastly experienced Premier League striker for a move to Celtic Park this summer transfer window…

The former Republic of Ireland international was speaking to Boyle Sports of late and reckons that Callum Wilson should make a move to the Hoops this summertime when his time at Newcastle United is over.
Callum Wilson will be a free agent this summer
The Magpies attacker is coming to the end of his contract and will be a free agent this pre-season, meaning he will be able to pick his next club without any transfer fee being involved.
It remains to be seen though if Eddie Howe will want to keep the former Bournemouth player around having worked with him for some time throughout the years in the English top flight.

Injury concerns surround Wilson
Wilson hasn’t been without his injury troubles though and has struggled at times, making it difficult to see Celtic wanting to offer that kind of money for a player who has been on the treatment table quite a bit.
Nonetheless, Townsend reckons the 33-year-old would be perfect for a club like Celtic.
“Callum Wilson is out of contract in the summer and I could absolutely see him at Celtic, I think it could be ideal for him,” he said.
‘He is on a free transfer but could still get a significant wage’
“He is on a free transfer but could still get a significant wage, the one problem is if he can stay fit enough to have the impact on the team he and the club would want. At Celtic he could play 25 games and win the league, he has experience and has been around a long time, when he plays he looks good it’s just the injury concerns.”
Townsend added: “A move to a club like Celtic would make a lot of sense for him, he could help Adam Idah with his experience, but he would need to be able to play 30 times in all competitions from Celtic’s point of view.
“The move would work if that was the case, otherwise Celtic may look elsewhere.”
