Yanks bid no big deal – A better challenge will galvanise Celtic

Worried about their takeover deal? Not al all.  Celtic supporters couldn’t care less. We are all too busy laughing at you and focusing on winning another title and possibly a ninth treble…

The gates at Ibrox tell the truth
The gates at Ibrox Stadium show the club is the company (LTD) on April 1, 2011. The Rangers supporters have suddenly forgotten all their recent woes. Losing three home fixtures in succession to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup and St Mirren and Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership seen them dumped out of the cup by a Championship side whilst languishing 16 points behind Celtic in first place means they will finish the campaign without a trophy yet again.

Indeed they had better look over their shoulders because it looks like Hibs are coming after them.

They are gleefully shouting from the rooftops

Yet remarkably it’s all been erased from their memory (a bit like 2012) and they are gleefully shouting from the rooftops about how they are going to dominate Scottish football, have a brilliant team, build a 70k capacity stadium and get back to the time when it was their old club who dominated Scottish football. They managed that through cheating the taxman and bumping their creditors before going out of business.

The reason for their newly re-discovered optimism? Well it’s all down to the potential takeover involving some Stateside investors, something they believe will make them the richest and most powerful club in the country.

Head in the clouds dreaming of a scenario that isn’t remotely possible

You’d think that they would just be happy about their club potentially having the chance to be well run, and stave off the threat of yet another financial disaster. No instead they do what they always do and that’s to put their heads in the clouds and dream of a scenario that isn’t remotely possible and allow their delusions to take hold.

No bottomless pit of cash coming their way

There won’t be a bottomless pit of cash. Being efficiently run and the ability to trade in the transfer market (within their means) is what the potential new owners will have in mind. They want a return for their investment as all US based business consortiums demand. There will be no emotional sending because those writing the cheques will no longer be Rangers men (sic). They will be rich investors looking for a return and that is going to uncomfortable for a club that has lost over £100m since it was by Charles Green founded in 2012.

They believe this proposed deal will alarm Celtic

The Ibrox hordes first thought after news of this proposed deal was made public was how it would alarm Celtic. Their deluded minds believe that we are somewhat devastated about the thought of their proposed takeover and are all crying ourselves to sleep on a nightly basis.

Nothing could be further from the truth! We are too busy trying to win a treble and laughing at them to take any notice.  And if they can become a well run club and able to mount a better challenge that they have been able to in every season excluding the freakish Covid year, then that is to be welcomed by Celtic.

A better challenge will galvanise Celtic

A better challenge will galvanise Celtic even more so that before and can help us hit new heights, especially in European football where Brendan Rodgers no has a focus.

If the deal falters at the due diligence stage there will of course be a laugh or two to be had but it everything proceeds as planned the actual reality is going to be nowhere near their own wild dreams.
