The SFA have confirmed that Daizen Maeda’s equaliser for Celtic at Hibs should have stood. The goal cost Celtic at least a point at Easter Rd with David Gray’s side hanging on to secure a 2-1 win.
The SFA’s key match incident panel have voted 4-1 to confirm that the goal should have stood after reviewing last weekend’s 2-1 defeat for the Hoops at Easter Road.
It seems Daizen Maeda's equaliser at Hibs should have stood, according to the SFA's key match incident panel. The 82rd-minute goal was ruled out by VAR after it was deemed the ball had gone out of play before Alistair Johnston’s cross. The on-field decision was a goal and there was no conclusive footage that the ball was out. Alan Muir intervened and made the call on the basis of ‘what he thought’ rather than factual evidence.
Celtic will be hoping that there are no controversial decisions on Saturday evening as the Scottish Champions travel to Paisley to face St Mirren.
