Scotland’s Shame – UEFA hit latest Ibrox club hard for racist offence

Yet another punishment dished out by UEFA regarding racism from the Rangers supporters. It’s a major embarrassment for the Scottish FA and the SPFL…

Earlier today theRangers were hit with a suspended stand closure and fines of around £40,000 for a banner displayed and other offences in the recent Europa league clash with Fenerbahce at Ibrox.

Horrible hateful views

UEFA stepped in after the banner which was clearly racist in its tone proclaimed the true mindset of a supporters who regularly attend Ibrox, and highlighted their horrible hateful views to those throughout the European game.

Indeed it’s the second such occasion in six years that the club have been punished for their supporters backward views after a partial stand closure in 2019 was sanctioned due to racial behaviour from the Ibrox regulars.

It comes to no surprise to us with any knowledge of the Scottish game, especially us Celtic supporters that the Ibrox support hold such disgusting beliefs. We had to listen to it in all its shame at the recent Glasgow Derby including their racist TBB song which will be punished by UEFA if it’s sung again.

They regularly sing about killing Catholics

They regularly sing about killing Catholics, and revel in their hatred of the Catholic Church, or indeed show nothing but contempt to anyone who they believe to be remotely different from them.

That makes it all the more bewildering and embarrassing for the Scottish governing body that they haven’t once dealt with this vile behaviour, not once, but their European counterparts have acted on two separate occasions, three if you count a charge that was inflicted on the now defunct Rangers FC.

They revel in bitter hatred

It’s not as if it’s a hidden secret, it’s publicly acknowledged and well documented that they revel in such bitter hatred. From being up to their knees in Irish Catholic blood, rejoicing in the death of millions of innocent souls in a genocide/famine, to displaying banners in support of one of the most murderous regimes in the history of civilisation, they have been caught bang to rights indulging in their depraved behaviour more than once.

They had the worst record every in the Champions League

Sadly the Scottish FA and their colleagues at the SPFL shamefully and embarrassingly on their part turn a blind eye and develop selective hearing when such behaviour is in full flow. They should feel a bigger sense of embarrassment in that UEFA have decided to act once more regarding the racist behaviour that they have themselves have repeatedly failed to challenge.

UEFA stage the competition and want none of that so set the rules and dish out the punishment. They’ll try their best to stop for European nights but not in domestic football where there is nothing to stop them. Nothing from the Police. Nothing in the media. Nothing from the governing bodies and nothing from theRangers. They issued a statement stating that their illicit songs can’t be sung on European nights – rather than insisting that in 2025 it’s time to move on and stop this hateful bigotry and racism once and for all.

Celtic punishments never for any form of racism

No doubt we will be met with cry’s of ‘Celtic have also been punished’ and yes we have, but for acts of defiance towards UEFA, the use of Pyrotechnics, and highlighting the plight of the oppressed of the world. We have never and I repeat never been charged with any form of racism. That behaviour is reserved for our rivals who have once again shamed our country.

They really are Scotland’s Shame….
