The gates at Ibrox tell the truth
The gates at Ibrox Stadium show the club is the company (LTD) on April 1, 2011. Rangers announced their interim financial results for the last six months of 2010, the results came in the same week the club has been in negotiations with possible new owner Craig Whyte. Ibrox support of the military based on nothing but a lie, just like their club

Ibrox support of the military is based on nothing but a lie, just like their club…

The Herald headline
The Herald headline: “Rangers Football Club Born 1972, died 2012”. Press cutting.

Today is a big day at Ibrox, and a carnival atmosphere decked in union flags is expected. No it’s not a celebration of the new messiah that is Barry Ferguson and his all conquering sides historic comeback against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, but it’s the annual armed forces day, a ritual that is becoming as embarrassing as the tragic toe curling event that is the loving cup.

Soldiers abseiling off the roof, to tanks and cannons on the park

From soldiers abseiling off the roof, to tanks and cannons on the park, nothing is off limits as the Ibrox club pander to the bigot element of their support as they pretend to honour those ‘brave men and women’ who risk their lives to keep them safe. To keep them safe from what is anyone’s guess as this island hasn’t been invaded  in centuries or indeed been under threat of invasion in 80 years.

This counteracts moves by owner Craig Whyte, who yesterday gave notice of the clubs intent to go into administration. If anything it’s those very armed forces who have participated in invasion, and that’s the real reason for the Ibrox crowds honouring of the military. Yes, let’s not beat about the bush, it’s the very same military’s involvement in the brutal atrocities in Ireland that led to the maiming and murder of Catholics that appeals to the Ibrox hordes, that’s much nearer the truth.

If you need any more proof, just listen to the many voices in the stand belt out tune after tune revelling in the murder of Catholics as they honour their ‘heroes’.

The whole circus is nothing but a sorry sad pathetic charade. Just like their club, their love of the military it’s based on nothing but lies and hatred towards Catholics in general and Celtic in particular.

  1. Many of us Celtic supporters served in the armed forces with pride and in part your article reduces you to their level. The armed forces are a way of life for many religions and those involved carry out their duties with pride. Having travelled extensively during my service I always had my Celtic colours with me and wore them with pride.
Never forget Celtic supporters are everywhere no matter what their job is
