Wrestling icon CM Punk was left in awe of Celtic Park during his visit to the stadium earlier this week…

The 46-year-old, in town for WWE’s Monday Night RAW at the OVO Hydro, also expressed his desire to eventually attend a match at Celtic Park.
Punk has been a follower of Brendan Rodgers’ side since attending the ‘Clash at the Castle’ event in Glasgow last summer and made his first trip to Celtic Park on Tuesday. Speaking to the official Celtic FC website, CM Punk said: “It’s beautiful, it’s gorgeous.”
‘There’s just so much history here’
“Everything’s green – the seats are green, everything’s beautiful. There’s just so much history here. If 60,000 people are coming every game to see something, I want to know what that’s about.”
The American is well-acquainted with both Celtic and Glasgow, having visited the city before. “Glasgow has always been one of the funner places for me to come,” he said.
“I kind of fell in love with it. Every time I’m here, I know my way around a little bit more than I do the other cities.”
The Hoops has hosted numerous famous supporters, including Rod Stewart and Billy Connolly, at Celtic Park for matches, and Punk is eager to be the next in line.
‘Coming to a game would be a dream come true’
Given WWE’s demanding schedule, a potential matchday visit could be challenging, but the wrestler is eager to find a way to make it happen. “I want to stay longer,” he said.
“I want to eat the food. I want to hang out with the locals. Coming to a game would be a dream come true.”
