Celtic v Rangers: Starting XIs confirmed for Glasgow Derby

Celtic face Rangers at Celtic Park this afternoon in the Scottish Premiership. The managers have confirmed their starting XIs for the game with Brendan Rodgers having to call upon Polish central defender Maik Nawrocki.

Nawrocki starts due to Liam Scales and Auston Trusty missing through injury. The ex-Legia Warsaw defender impressed in December 2023 when he was substituted on in this fixture and will be relishing the chance to stake a claim for the team. Luke McCowan domes into the midfield as skipper Callum McGregor misses out due to a calf complaint.

Celtic: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Nawrocki, Schlupp, McCowan, Engels, Hatate, Kuhn, Jota, Maeda.

Subs: Sinisalo, Taylor, Idah, Yang, Kenny, Murray, Ralston, Bonnar, Turley.

Rangers interim manager Barry Ferguson has named his team with an expected 5-3-2 as he looks to replicate the away performance in Istanbul. The Ibrox side will look to soak up pressure and hit on the counter with Cerny and Dessers.

Rangers: Butland, Sterling, Tavernier, Souttar, Balogun, Yilmaz, Barron, Raskin, Diomande, Cerny, Dessers.

Subs: Kelly, Propper, Lawrence, Bajrami, Nsiala, Igamane, Hagi, Rice, Danilo.
