Celtic beat St Mirren on Saturday evening took Brendan Rodgers’ side 16 points clear at the top of the Premiership table. The Scottish Champions had to dig deep to beat Stephen Robinson’s resilient side but after the result from Ibrox, Celtic were determined to extend their lead.
Barry Ferguson’s Rangers found themselves 2-0 down at the break before pulling one back. The strike wasn’t enough to stop the boos coming at half time as the Ibrox club slumped to another defeat.
Celtic can now win the title against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park if they can beat Rangers and Hearts at Celtic Park before making the trip up the A9.
The focus for Celtic will be to win their next match, the Scottish Cup Quarter Final against Hibs before turning their attentions on inflicting pain on Rangers.
