Celtic were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in heartbreaking circumstances on Tuesday night. Carrying a 2-1 scoreline over to Germany made the task of progressing to the Last 16 even harder but Brendan Rodgers’ side had extra time beckoning before Bayern Munich equalised to eliminate Celtic.
In the first half, Celtic had a number of chances that they were not able to take and in the second period, Celtic scored through Nicolas Kühn and defended resolutely. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be and Vincent Kompany’s side progressed.
There was an immense sense of pride and disappointment after the result, something that was apparent from the reaction to the game. Picking up on that reaction, Sky Sports News invited Kris Boyd on to talk about the result and, in typical fashion, he made a comment intended as a dig.
🗣️ "I've never been so delighted to see the ball hit the back of the Celtic net in all my life"

While Boyd did go on to make some remarks acknowledging Celtic’s performance and progress in the competition, it was embarrassing from Sky Sports to have a Rangers cheerleader talking about Celtic. There are a number of prominent pundits that played for Celtic and are more qualified than Boyd to speak about European football, especially after drawing against the six-time European Champions.
This man is the reason that I refuse to watch celtic games on Sky.
Could you imagine the uproar if an ex celtic player came out and said he was glad to see the ball hit the back of the net and knocking the huns out.
So much for impartiality……
Still 14 points (incl GD) behind……
