Celtic are eyeing a potential deal for Slovan Bratislava £8m rated Slovakian striker David Strelec…
As reported in Daily Record this morning, Brendan Rodgers is aiming to strengthen his frontline before the January transfer window slams shut on Monday night. Danish forward Mathias Kvitsgaarden remains a top target for the Hoops, but Strelec has emerged as a possible target.

After Kyogo’s departure, Celtic have explored a number of options at the top end of the pitch. English Championship side Middlesbrough have already had a bid turned down for Strelec at the beginning of the month with Slovan Bratislava taking a firm stance on their prize asset.

Stralec lined up for Bratislava at Celtic Park in late September when Rodgers’ men dismantled the Slovaks 5-1 in their first Champions League group phase outing.
Following dreadful spells in Serie B with Spezia and Reggina, Stralec returned to Slovan Bratislava in the summer of 2023.
The 23 year-old striker has netted seven goals in 28 games for his national team. This season for Bratislava, Stralec has scored 15 goals – five of which coming in the Champions League qualifiers.
Despite Vladamir Weiss’ Slovakian champions notching up zero points in the new elongated 36-team format in Europe’s elite club competition, Stralec scored against Dinamo Zagreb and Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metrapolitano.
Josh Brownhill

Meanwhile, Celtic have once again been linked with a move for Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill. The 30 year-old is out-of-contract at Turf Moor in the summer and has been available to speak to any clubs during this window. Yet to agree a new deal with the English Championship side, the Hoops can secure the services of Brownhill on a pre-contract.
