Young Boys captain Loris Benito was full of praise for the Celtic Park atmosphere after his appearance last week. The defender started for the Swiss side as Brendan Rodgers’ side battled to a well deserved 1-0 victory.
Speaking to Blick, the 33-year-old remarked that the atmosphere was the best he’d had in football.
“Incredible! I’ve never experienced anything like it. The Champions League anthem alone gives you goosebumps.
“But the atmosphere here tops that by a lot. Probably one of the best experiences I’ve had in football.”
Celtic Park has been lauded as one of the best stadiums in football on European nights thanks to the atmosphere created. The club should be looking at enhancing this and speaking to fan groups about how is best to magnify the atmosphere and really ramp it up. The combination of the Green Brigade and Bhoys Celtic in the North Curve would certainly go some way towards improving the noise in the stadium. The groups had discussed the ‘Celtic End’ initiative but that has not been forthcoming.
