Celtic qualify ‘by the skin of their teeth’ says Peter Martin

So Peter Martin is still sipping that soup…

Peter Martin famously went to extraordinary lengths to pursue a career in the SMSM by changing his surname which wasn’t seen as acceptable in the eyes of the Neanderthals in our game, to a much more ‘respectable’ name to appease the bigots in the Scottish media ranks and fan-bases at certain clubs.

Peter is what’s known as a ‘soup taker’ amongst the Celtic supporters due to his frequent toeing the party line in an aim to please his paymasters.

‘The skin of their teeth’

Peter today displayed those qualities when he stated that Celtic had made the play-offs in the Champions League by ‘the skin of their teeth’.

That’s quite a remarkable take considering we qualified with a game to spare, and yes it was a bit nervy in the end last night, but we fully earned the chance of qualifying for the last 16 after three wins and a draw at Celtic Park and decent wins in Bergamo and Zagreb on out travels, with just the oe defeat in seven games at the very top level of club football.

Peter’s comments are up there with one his fellow media chums who once described our 8-4 aggregate win over Astana in the same competition back in 2017 as a ‘close win’

It’s a shame to see Peter stooping to those levels, but that’s his prerogative I suppose.
