Celtic’s Callum McGregor has been included in the SPFL Team of the Week following our 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup…

The Bhoys hammered the Ayshire outfit in the first 45 minutes of that Fourth Round tie and somehow managed to go in 1-1 at the interval, which left many scratching their head in disbelief.
Celtic created countless opportunities
It was another match where the team created countless opportunities for each other but failed to capitalise on, as chance after chance went begging. Kyogo and Reo Hatate both missed a golden opportunity each and there were others throughout the match which ensured we never pulled away from McInnes’ troops and put them totally to the sword, which was frustrating to watch.

Daizen Maeda eventually scored the winner
Daizen Maeda eventually scored the goal that took us over the line in the end up, but we made hard work for ourselves in another game we should have been out of sight. Callum McGregor opened the scoring on Saturday night and was pretty much the epicentre of everything we did well in the game. Time after time the Scot sets the tempo for this team and has done for several years now.
The captain will be hoping tonight will be the game when we take full advantage of any attacks on goal created and carve up the Swiss Champions BSC Young Boys.
It would be a welcome return to putting the finishing touches on some of our wonderful football and all orchestrated by the main man in the middle of the park. Hopefully it’s a night to savour and Callum is pivotal for us once more. You can watch Callum McGregor’s pre-match media conference below…
