Clement getting his excuses in early ahead of Tottenham and Celtic

Big Phil with yet more waffle regarding finances – theRangers are so far behind Celtic due to mismanagement and waste of financial resources, not a lack of them...

Clement never seems to make much sense

Philippe Clement never seems to make much sense and yesterday he kept up that trait as he waffled yet more nonsense that again went unchallenged by the spineless SMSM.

In his post match interview the bold Phil claimed that his side are massive underdogs in their next two matches against Tottenham and Celtic due to being worlds apart from the two sides financially.

While that may be true in the case of Spurs, when it comes to our own club he’s talking utter drivel.

Excuses, excuses, excuses

Yes we may be in a better financial position than the Ibrox club (then again most clubs are) as our club is run properly, but a quick delve into the figures regarding squad cost and wage bills would instantly rubbish Phil’s claims. A few years ago the two clubs were neck and neck in terms of turnover

It could well be mind games from the Belgian, but it’s totally fabricated, and a claim that any hack worth their salt could rubbish in an instant.

£27m in transfer fees

The squad from theRangers that took on Ross County yesterday cost a massive £27 million in transfer fees to assemble. Then there is the huge salaries that the new Ibrox club pay their players, which only a couple of years ago was the highest in the country.

Spare us the violin – Celtic is better run

This is a side who have spent upwards of £100 million on transfer fees and salaries since they were formed in 2012.

So spare us the violin over a phantom ‘financial gap.’ For one of the main reasons theRangers are so far behind Celtic is due to mismanagement and waste of financial resources, not a lack of them.

Celtic have invested their money wisely and in turn been successful in winning titles and qualifying for the Champions League, while making a huge profit in player trading.

For instance we signed Jota and Matt O’Riley for a combined £7.5 million who in turn helped us win titles and qualify for the cash laden Champions league, and sold them for an impressive £55 million combined.

The Rangers signed Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe for a combined £12 million and they left for nothing, and that’s just one of numerous examples.

theRangers has spend more than enough to be able to compete

The Ibrox club have spent more than enough to be able to compete and failed miserably, due to a live today worry about tomorrow attitude. Hence the reason they are in such dire straits.

And there was irony in the fact that Clement was saying this in Dingwall of all place. That was the scene of his side’s collapse as their rear end went just when the pressure was on in the title run in.

Now Ross County have never claimed to be in theRangers league financially. But they are a well run club and were able to beat Clement’s high earners last season and in doing so dent Clement’s title ambitions.
