Celtic players react to battling point away to Atalanta

Celtic battled to a well deserved point on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Scottish Champions held Europa League winners Atalanta to a goalless draw in Bergamo with a defensive masterclass from the backline.

Brendan made one change from the side that dropped points to Aberdeen with Adam Idah coming into the team at the expense of Kyogo. The Irishman was used as an out ball as Celtic looked to beat the man-for-man press executed by Atalanta.

Taking to Instagram, Idah was joined by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and fullbacks Alistair Johnston and Alex Valle in reacting to the draw.

Celtic finish MD3 on four points, which is a fairly good haul given that the last two games have been Pot 1 and Pot 2 away games. Celtic sit in 20th place and will be looking forward to back-to-back games at Paradise against RB Leipzig and Club Brugge.

  1. Fantastic result, and still shocked that we managed to keep the clean sheet also?
Yet such a heroic defensive display also warranted a clean sheet also imo?
Welcome to Celtic for Trusty, who showed more than his worth tonight, and erased many of the question marks, that were starting to creep into his worth for ourselves?
Disappointed for idah, as even though he had such a thankless task of leading the line on his own, for long periods, he was certainly second best in the battle against there defender sadly?
No real surprise in how Rodgers set the team up for us to play tonight, even if it was a totally different approach for some of our players to adjust to.
But the confidence gained tonight, hopefully will be massive for ourselves going forward, for big away CL encounters.
As hard as we worked without the football, we still had numerous moments with the football, where we could have done so much better with also?
But tonight isn’t a night for looking at the areas we could have done better within, especially when all 16 of our players used tonight, contributing so hugely in gaining such a fantastic result for ourselves tonight imo?
