Mikey Johnston has posted an emotional Celtic farewell message. The Irish Internationalist completed a £3m deadline day move to West Brom, ending his time with his boyhood club.
In his time at Celtic, Johnston played 93 games, scoring 13 goals and assisting on 12 occasions. The player enjoyed playing for the club during an incredible period of success but injuries hampered his progression, often frustrating supporters as they could clearly see that there was a talented player there.
The loan move to West Brom will have helped his confidence and you expected that the Championship side would have wanted him back. The only surprising factor was how long it took for a deal to come through.
Johnston, 25, had been widely expected to depart and Sheffield United and Burnley were vying for his signature before the winger decided upon making the return to The Hawthorns.
Good luck in the next stage of your career, Mikey.
