Former Man Utd player’s snidey Kasper Schmeichel comments

Paul Parker, has been sharing his thoughts on Kasper Schmeichel, who he has been very impressed with since he joined Celtic in the summer as a replacement for his good friend Joe Hart. However the former Man United player doesn’t half make some snidey comments…

Super Joe Hart

Super Joe hart brought his professional playing career to an end with three seasons at Celtic where he won three Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups as well as the love and affection of the Celtic support who gave him the most unbelievable send-off which Hart described as one of the best days of his life.

Kasper Schmeichel has got off to an incredible start as Celtic goalkeeper and looks like he could be following in Joe Hart’s footsteps in more ways than one. And no Celtic supporter will complain is Schmeichel can maintain his levels for three seasons similar to Super Joe.

Honestly quite shocked

“I’m honestly quite shocked at how well things have gone for him at Celtic,” Paul Parker told SpilXperten. He was as good as finished. I expected him to either retire or maybe return to England and play at a lower level. It’s a pretty surprising turn of events, in my opinion.

Hardly looks over the hill

Kasper starred for Denmark at Euro2024, he hardly looked over the hill them. He has competition at Celtic and is in the team on merit.

He has played against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, theRangers, Hibs (twice), Hearts and Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League and been on the winning side in all of those matches.

He’ll be in the Celtic goals in Tuesday night playing in Dortmund against last season’s Champions League finalists and he’s still the Denmark goalkeeper.

A disruptive presence in the dressing room

“We all heard the rumours about Premier League clubs being interested in him, but I’ve always said that he can be a disruptive presence in the dressing room if he’s stuck on the bench. That’s why I had a hard time imagining that happening.

“The level of competition in Scotland isn’t that high, we have to admit, and it’s a good place for an older goalkeeper to go. There isn’t a lot of work to do when you’re Celtic’s goalkeeper, but that doesn’t make his performances any less impressive.”

Brendan Rodgers knows Kasper very welll

Parker’s assessment that Kasper Schmeichel can be a disruptive influence is far from reality as far as Celtic is concerned.

And remember that Brendan Rodgers was his manager at Leicester City so knows the player very well indeed.  Whatever Parker’s grudge is against Kasper, dear knows, but we’re delighted with Kasper as our goalkeeper.

Parker did get one thing correct though, “Celtic is a fantastic club”.

Celtic is a fantastic club

“Celtic is a fantastic club. A lot of players dream of joining them. If the Scottish league were at a higher level, they’d have an easier time attracting players, but their fans are a huge bonus.”

“It must be a great feeling for Schmeichel to have that experience before he ends his career. The story couldn’t have been written much better, and I’m happy he’s had such a good start.”
