Chris Sutton reckons that the Rangers support has good reason to be worried about where their club is heading under Philippe Clement.
The Rangers supporters have been venting their anger and frustration online, while some also headed to Ibrox to protest as the team bus arrived back from Celtic Park where they were comprehensively beaten by the Champions.
Celtic captain said it could have been four or five
Indeed as the Celtic captain Callum McGregor was saying afterwards the 3-0 scoreline could easily have been four of five and the higher it got the more difficult it was going to be for Clement to keep his job. The Belgian has no had five attempts at getting a win over Celtic and has come up short each and every time, with four defeats and a draw.
‘Aberdeen are off to a flier’
Sutton was speaking on BBC 5 Live’s 606 last night as supporters discussed the first Glasgow Derby of the season that sent Celtic back to the top of the table ahead of Aberdeen on goal difference with that pair leading Dundee United in third place by four points.
“Aberdeen are off to a flier. I would be surprised if Aberdeen could keep this intensity up but I’ve got to say, Rangers were so far off it today,” Sutton said.
‘If I’m a Rangers fan, I am really worried’
The former Celtic striker who is also a pundit on Sky Sports added: “If I’m a Rangers fan, I am really worried. Bearing in mind that Celtic sold their best player, Matt O’Riley, they’ve brought other players in during the window now. But they were miles off it.
“If you are a Rangers fan then you are thinking that your team has no chance.
“Philippe Clement has said ‘we will get better in October or November’. Will he get that long though? He got a bit of stick when the coach travelled back to Ibrox. There’s a few Rangers fans hanging around who were not happy bears.”
