Matt O’Riley was forced from the field just minutes into his Brighton debut. After completing a £30m switch from Celtic, O’Riley was named in the Brighton starting XI for their League Cup game against Crawley Town.
However, O’Riley was forced from the pitch after just nine minutes after being on the end of a brutal challenge from a Crawley player. Jay Williams lunged in on the Danish Internationalist as he turned and passed the ball, leaving O’Riley on the deck.

Matt’s Albion debut has been cut short after a poor challenge on the midfielder. 💔😩 We’re all hoping it’s not too serious. 🤞 pic.twitter.com/Tb0s6PWSXW

Hopefully it is merely a precautionary substitute and O’Riley will be okay after an early finish to his debut. The player will likely impress and be the next standout for Brighton earning a move to one of the Top Six teams in future.
I feel gutted for Matt O’Rilley but he’lll be back bigger and better !
