Paulo is here, finally. But he’ll prove to be well worth the wait…

Welcome back to Celtic Paulo Bernardo

Welcome back to Celtic Paulo Bernardo, this time on a more permanent basis. For what seemed like an age of negotiations the Portuguese under 21 captain is finally a Celtic player after signing a five year deal after a fee believed to in the region of £3.5 million was agreed with Benfica.

That will prove to be good business in the long run, you can bet your life on that. Despite not being seen as a regular starter last season, Paulo showed his class in the games he participated in, especially in Europe.

He will only be stronger after spending last campaign with us, and now that he’s used to the environment and the football, as well as what Brendan expects of him, Paulo will be an even better player than he was during his loan spell.

He’s young, but possesses a good maturity

He’s young, but possesses a good maturity for his lack of years, and looks very much the real deal. Paulo will undoubtedly add strength and ability to our midfield and I have no doubts in saying that he will be a great asset to our club in the coming years. Welcome back Paulo. May your stay be a successful one.
