Money talks but no way Brighton are bigger than Celtic

Brighton aren’t bigger than Celtic, but they have more financial muscle, that’s just the truth.

Many Celtic supporters are upset at the thought of losing Matt O’Riley and understandably so. The thought of Matt going to a side such as Brighton is regarded by most as a step down from playing in front of sixty thousand fans while competing for trophies and playing Champions League football.

They would be correct as swapping all that for mid-table mediocrity in the EPL is not comparable, but the truth is that it’s not entirely about football.

Brighton can triple Matt’s salary

Brighton despite being much smaller in comparison to Celtic can triple Matt’s salary, something we can’t due to our financial constraints due to our current landscape. They can also offer him the ‘glitz and glamour’ of the EPL.

Even the likes of Atletico Madrid find it hard to compete with mid table English sides such is the huge finances on offer down south courtesy of Sky TV, so we are not alone in our frustrations.

The likes of Brighton can’t compete with us in terms of prestige, but they unfortunately blow us out of the water when it comes to money. That’s just the reality of the modern game.

Money talks, sadly.
