Celtic and Norwich City are back around the negotiating table to thrash out the deal that will take the Republic of Ireland striker back to the Scottish Champions and Scottish Cup winners, this time on a permanent deal…
Celtic will now pay between £6-8m for Idah
Sky Sports this afternoon reported that Celtic have now made an improved offer which has resulted in negotiations resuming after an initial bid of £4m was rejected last month.
Idah is desperately keen on a return to Celtic, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell in the second half of last season, helping Celtic win the league with so many crucial goals then scoring the 90th minute winner at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final against theRangers.
Idah nine goals in 19 games, many after coming off the bench
The 23-year-old Ireland international striker scored nine goals in 19 games, in contrast to the first half of last season at Norwich where he struggled to get game-time and was often seen as the whipping boy for the disgruntled Norwich support.
Idah was facing disciplinary proceedings after he failed to turn up for Norwich’s flight for their pre-season camp in Austria, but that will now be shelved as Norwich look at concluding the deal that will allow them to spend on their own summer targets.
While Adam Idah is unlikely to be signed in time for Sunday’s match at Easter Road in Celtic’s first away game of the new season, he should be back at the club next week, all going well.
