Early Derby boost for theRangers despite missing midfielder once valued at £40-50m

theRangers yesterday received an early boost for Sunday’s Glasgow Derby with the news that two of their keymen will be available for the trip to Celtic Park.

Fresh on from their moral boosting 6-0 thumping of the mighty Ross county, this is indeed a welcome boost to the latest Ibrox club.

Those two men are of course John and Andrew.

Collum sélects Beaton and Dallas for Glasgow Derby

That’s John Beaton who is of course a well known supporter of the Ibrox side, as is Andrew Dallas who will be operating VAR.

Both have never quite managed to hide their bias for Ibrox clubs over the years and it’s remarkable that they are still picked for such an important game giving their allegiances. They have been selected by the new Head of Referees Willie Collum so the appointment should surprise no-one. Willie Collum continually goes out of his way to appease those folk at Ibrox who often pick on Willie perhaps because of his faith.

Beaton wasn’t incompetent

John Beaton more so after his ‘incompetence’ last season at Tynecastle when he did his best to make sure we didn’t win the game. Jorge Grant and Lawrence Shankland may have scored the goals that saw us suffer defeat last March (the day after Motherwell won at Ibrox) but Beaton more than played his part and negated the damaged down the day before.

Brendan Rodgers called out Beaton after the game and duly received a one match ban for daring to suggest Beaton was guilty of ‘incompetence’, although the SFA had a point, Beaton wasn’t incompetent at all, he knew exactly what he had to do.

Nothing is going to change, nothing to see here

The fact that Beaton along with Dallas has been handed the first Derby of the season speak volumes on what we can all expect from Willie Collum. Nothing is going to change, nothing to see here.

However it’s not worth Celtic supporters getting too bothered about these appointments, we’re well used to it and it’s not stopped Celtic dominating this fixture, especially at Celtic Park.

And this weekend, due to the failure of their own board to carry out the work necessary at Ibrox to accommodate away supporters at their stadium, there will be no supporters of theRangers at the Glasgow Derby this weekend.

Kris Boyd not hopeful and Todd Cantwell’s £40-50m valuation

Not even Kris Boyd can force himself to be optimistic ahead of Sunday’s showdown, here’s his pre-match thoughts broadcast on Sky Sports earlier today…

In a week where Celtic sold a midfielder for £30m, maybe theRangers chances would be better if they could call upon a midfielder once valued at £40m – £50m. Watch this as the remarkable valuation is claimed.

  1. It remains a disgrace about the officials that have been appointed for the weekend, and does nothing but continue to highlight the level of corruption that still exists within Scottish football?
For ourselves, we have to continue playing our own game at such a standard that makes them fairly irrelevant?
We didn’t do that for large chunks of last season, yet we have already seen some ridiculous decisions not going our way, but the level of football we are currently playing, has made them irrelevant to ourselves thankfully so far?
If that trend from ourselves is kept intact on Sunday, then no amount of cheating from cheating officials will stop us imo?
Yet, we will be potentially going into the game, without our finalised squad in place, which remains shameful upon our behalf?
Regardless, the standard of our play, is at a totally different higher level than the scum can only dream about ever achieving anytime soon?
Even so,for ourselves, there still remains a few questions that need answering going into this game?
The main one, concerns what is the current situation regarding Iwata?
Hasn’t been involved in the last 2 match day squads, and no word regarding any potential injury either?
Also 5 wide men within our squad last weekend, yet only 3 used within a game already won?
Taking Taylor off, looked a strange decision at the time, and is he actually in line to start on Sunday, would be very surprised if he wasn’t?
Still wouldn’t say that if we were to go with Holm and Turley as our only available midfield options as subs, is a great place to find ourselves heading into this match imo?
Our midfield needed a much stronger look about it, and ridiculous situation that it currently isn’t?
Only change to the squad is potentially Iwata, coming in for yang, maybe the only change from last weekend within our squad imo?
Still expect kuhn to start ahead of Forrest, and possibly kyogo ahead of idah?
Wouldn’t be to bothered, if hopefully the new additions are welcomed to our support before the game, as long as there are additions to be shown to our support?
Would be a massive moral victory to be having a fair few not even involved on Sunday, who have that quality factor to be added to our squad?
And then handing out a proper skelping to the scum also?
Now the baldy Belgium waffler, will really find out first hand, what a proper moral victory is all about?
    HH
