The Europa League draw has taken place this afternoon and our weekend opponents theRangers look to have ended up with a tough draw that Celtic got yesterday.
Philippe Clement’s side will have to face both English powerhouses Manchester United and Tottenham. Spurs are of course managed by former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, so he knows all about playing at Ibrox.
TheRangers also have two tough French opponents in Lyon and Nice, who are both decent sides. They will also have to play Malmo who knocked them out of the Champions League play-offs a few years back.
TheRangers have been drawn against Tottenham (H), Manchester United (A), Lyon (H), Olympiacos (A), Union SG (H), Malmo (A), FCSB ie Steaua Bucharest (H) and Nice (A).
Is this tougher than Celtic’s draw? That was made yesterday afternoon with Brendan Rodgers’ side on Champions League duties against Borussia Dortmund (A), Club Brugge (H), RB Leipzig (H), Young Boys of Berne (H), Dinamo Zagreb (A), Slovan Bratislava (H) and Aston Villa (A).
Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou taking his Tottenham side to Ibrox could be a fun watch for the Celtic support! Popcorn at the ready!
The Europa League draw has put Rangers up against some old foes. I am looking forward to watching their rivalries with Ange Postecoglou and The Greater Manchester Police reignited.

Ange’s fixtures for his Tottenham side are Roma (H), Rangers (A), AZ Alkmaar (H), Ferencvaros (A), Qarabag (H), Galatasaray (A), Elfsborg (H) and Hoffenheim (A), so they shouldn’t have too much trouble progressing.
