Celtic FC Women started pre-season training on Monday and Elena Sadiku will be speaking to Celtic Shorts today at Celtic Park to give her update on her plans and ambitions for the new season. We’ll report back on what she has to say later today.

The SWPL1 Champions will be heading to Sweden for pre-season and will be taking on the Swedish Champions there early next month.

Elena will be speaking to Celtic Shorts today 

That will be ideal preparation for Celtic’s first ever appearance in the Champions side of the draw for the Champions League which is now imminent.

We’ll be asking Elena about his ambitions for the new season, for an update on additional signings – and yesterday she hinted that there are more to come – and her excitement for what’s ahead in the Champions League. We’ll also try to get more details on the pre-season trip to Sweden.

Yesterday Elena kicked things off with an interview on Celtic TV which you can watch below.

“It feels amazing to be back for pre-season,” Elena said.  “Obviously it’s nice to see the players, the staff and all the people around the club, but mostly it’s very nice to see the players back in action and also getting to know the new players. So it’s great to get started.

“Going from our last game to where we are now, it’s not only been holidays, there’s also been some work behind the scenes. But there is nothing better than being back out on the pitch with your team. The best thing I do is work because I love my job so much.’

We have some positions that are open

“Right now at training we have 23 players, so pretty much the full squad is here. The only thing is, we have some positions that are open. But right now, we need to focus on what we have and I feel like I’m very happy to have them in the team.”
