Paulo Bernardo on his way back to Paradise

Paulo Bernardo looks to have got his wish and is now on his way back to Glasgow to sign a permanent contract at Celtic after the club agreed a £3.5m transfer fee with the Lisbon giants.

Signing saga has been resolved

The saga surrounding the transfer of Paulo Bernardo looks to have been resolved after it was confirmed that the Benfica man was finally on his way to Celtic on a permanent deal.

Talks have been going on since the end of the season and despite hitting a few bumps along the way, a deal has finally been struck that suits all parties.

According to Portuguese outlet A BOLA Paulo will be a Celtic player and is ‘on his way’ with only a few final minor details still to be reached before it’s made official.

Celtic are believed to have negotiated a lower price than what Benfica originally wanted, with an agreement on a future sell on fee more likely. A sell on fee which could be as high as 50 percent.

That represents good business and will be a valuable signing for the club that will only improve our squad.

Paulo impressed in his spell last year and is the current Portugal under 21 captain. He’s definitely the required ‘quality’ needed by Brendan Rodgers in his pursuit to take us forward.
