Neil Lennon confirms imminent arrival from Celtic

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed the imminent arrival of Benjamin Siegrist from the Scottish Champions. The Swiss goalkeeper has been given the ok by the club to travel to Romania to sign for Rapid Bucharest.

As reported by Record Sport, Lennon has said that he hopes the Swiss stopper arrives in the next few days.

“Benjamin Siergrist is a very good player, I hope he arrives in the next few days. Our keeper Marian Aioani is good, but needs competition.

“I hope that in the next week, there will be two or three more transfers. If we can bring in more players here, it would be very good.”

Siegrist has made just two competitive appearances for Celtic in two years since arriving on a free transfer from Dundee Utd. Siegrist ably deputised to Joe Hart along with Scott Bain but it was clear that he wanted more first team opportunities- something that wasn’t possible at Celtic.

Celtic have signed Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo to act as the first and second choice goalkeepers at the club.
