Everton today hosted SWPL1 Champions, Celtic announce inaugural dinner

Celtic FC has announced an inaugural dinner in celebration of the women’s team, who made history by securing the club’s first-ever SWPL title back in May. The event will become an annual tradition at Paradise to celebrate women’s football…

The first dinner will be held on 23 August at the Number 7 Restaurant in Celtic Park. It will pay tribute to club legends Kelly Clark and Chloe Craig, who more than deserve recognition for all they have done for the club. It’s sure to be a fantastic occasion that supporters of the Ghirls won’t want to miss!

Tickets are priced at £75 for a seat, or you can book a table of ten for £650. The event gets underway at 6.30pm on the day.

Last week, Celtic Shorts spoke to our new signing Saoirse Noonan at Paradise. Touching on everything from how the deal went down to the type of player she is, you can watch the interview below…

Pre-Season Plans

Celtic FC Women kick off our pre-season training camp in Sweden on 3 August with a match against Djurgården. The Ghirls face Hammarby on the following Wednesday, before returning home to Paradise to kick off our defence of the league title on 10 August.  Tickets should be available to purchase soon and as always, we’ll keep you updated on everything women’s football at the Celtic Shorts and also on The Celtic Star.

Everton Behind Closed Doors

Meanwhile Celtic travelled down to Liverpool to take on Everton in a behind closed doors friendly this afternoon. Both clubs have tweeted about the match, showing photographs etc but not telling us who won! Come on, we need to know!
