Celtic confirm Benjamin Siegrist leaves club

Celtic have confirmed that Benjamin Siegrist has left the club. The 32-year-old has secured a move to Rapid Bucharest, where he has signed a two year contract with an option of a third season.

The Scottish Champions have announced that the player has left the club as they wished the Swiss stopper all the best.

Siegrist will now ply his trade in Romania with former Celtic manager Neil LennonC who took over this summer.

After impressing with Dundee United, Siegrist followed the path of Lukas Zaluska in moving to Celtic from Tannadice with a view to being No.2 and challenging the No.1. Joe Hart was clearly the club’s first choice keeper and Siegrist didn’t manage to impress in his two first team appearances, meaning he was left to work as a backup alongside Scott Bain.

Best of luck to Benji.
