Cash-strapped Rangers want Miovski but Aberdeen want big money

Transfer Update, the Rangers want Miovski, Aberdeen want big money. That’s the reason any proposed interest is doomed for failure. Only one club in Scotland can afford the Aberdeen goalscorer…

Apparently theRangers are ‘interested’ in signing Aberdeen Striker Bojan Miovski.

You’d think such a move would be outwith their reach as the North Macedonian is valued in the £5-£6 million bracket and righty so.

Hilariously though the reason that’s been put forward as to why it’s unlikely he will join the Ibrox side is down to the rivalry that exists between the two sides, with Ibrox insiders believing the Dons will play hard ball in any proposed transfer.

The wrangle over the Connor Barron fee – or lack of it – most likely contributing to more animosity between the two sides, but there is far more to it than that, as well they know.

If there is any stumbling block it will be down to one thing and one thing only, and that is cash, something that is increasingly in short supply at Ibrox, which could be closed for many months amid their summer construction woes.

Aberdeen want top dollar for their star player, and rightly so. They want the best deal for a player still under contract, and they want what they believe he’s worth. Why would they look for anything less?

If they don’t entertain any interest from Ibrox it won’t be down to rivalry, it will be down to any proposed bid being nowhere near Aberdeen’s valuation.

Now if Celtic decided to get involved, there is no doubt that the funds are indeed available.  But is there a will? Yes, we are waiting on Adam Idah, but that should not exclude Bojan Miovski from our transfer plans. Hopefully Brendan Rodgers will be thinking something similar because it’s his view that matters.
