Scott Bain as the only goalkeeper at Celtic is totally unacceptable

Going into the new season with Scott Bain as number one would be unforgivable…

There are only five weeks until the beginning of the season and we’ve yet to add anyone to our squad. There are a number of positions that need filled and none more important than the goalkeeping one.

With Joe Hart retiring and Ben Siegrist soon to be leaving, it leaves us with only Scott Bain as our only viable option in goals. Scott is a good squad player, but with the utmost respect, he hasn’t got what it takes to be our regular number one.

It’s not even negotiable

We must get a quality keeper in for the start of the season, it’s not even negotiable. It’s a position we’ve known needs tending to for a few months now, so there can’t be any excuses for not identifying the right targets.

If we head into the start of the season with Scott as our number one, it will be completely unforgivable. Not only do we have the financial means to bolster our squad, we’ve had numerous months to search for the ideal replacement.

If we start the season with Scott Bain as our first choice, then it will nothing short of disgraceful.  Yesterday John Kennedy provided an update, with re-assurances that talks are taking place, players are on holiday and so on.  That’s the same situation around European football with plenty of clubs, including those playing in the Scottish Premiership, already making signings.

Brendan Rodgers using his own knowledge

Celtic let us all down in the January transfer window but got away with their failings in that window, due to Brendan Rodgers using his own knowledge of the game down south to bring in Adam Idah.  The longer things go without anything happening on the transfer front the more agitated the Celtic support will get.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
